Studying at university can be a big challenge for those who are the first in their family to do so. To support this group in their academic writing and work, we are developing trainings and other offers.

Across the curriculum, we are promoting students' AI literacy, i.e. the critical and careful handling of AI tools for academic and scientific writing.

Writing can be a powerful tool and medium to find strength in yourself and to discover the ressources you have. We are offering several different formats in this area.

In cooperation with SchreibCenter, the Mechanical Engineering Department prepares its students for scientific writing.

To professionalize and boost our writing consultations in English and on English texts, we are developing a training course. This course has English as the medium of instruction and is running April to July 2024.

In the pilot project “More Writing Competence in STEM Subjects” (2023/2024), we are adapting a concept for subject-related writing support to the specific needs of the TU Darmstadt: Writing Fellows.

To support STEM-students who are writing their final thesis, various offerings were developed, tested, evaluated, and subsequently made permanent at SchreibCenter 2022-2023. The formats take into account that students usually have access to more than one language.
